Sheboygan

Sheboygan is a town of about 44,000 people, right on Lake Michigan, about an hour south of Green Bay and a little less than an hour north of Milwaukee. It has been called the “Malibu of Wisconsin” for its surfers… yes, people surf on Lake Michigan, especially in the Fall!

One cool thing to do in town is to visit the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, that features contemporary art. After your visit, check out the vegan options at Field to Fork!

Field to Fork

This restaurant, located right downtown, focuses on breakfast and lunch, and is open until 3pm every day except Sundays.

There are two vegan items on the lunch menu:  a Vegan Bowl and a Vegan Wrap and I had the vegan bowl. It was delicious! I loved the tenderness of the kale mixed with the crunchiness of the pumpkin seeds. It also felt very nutritious with the quinoa, and tasty with the curry coconut dressing. This place was busy even for lunch on a weekday, so be aware you might need to wait or eat at the bar.

There is a small section with items for sale, such as pasta and sauces, and two gender-neutral restrooms.

Less than 15 minutes south of town is the spectacular Kohler-Andrae State Park… you must check it out if you’re already in the area!
